Housing Completions for Single Families Rises

Single-family housing completions in June were at a rate of 538,000; this is 8.9 percent (±14.7%)* above the revised May figure of 494,000. The June rate for units in buildings with five units or more was 271,000.

Privately-owned housing completions in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 818,000. This is 0.4 percent (±15.7%)* below the revised May estimate of 821,000 and is 27.7 percent (±9.0%) below the June 2008 rate of 1,131,000. – Courtesy of U.S. Census Bureau
