Productivity and Costs Decreased

This month real average weekly earnings fell by 0.3 percent from April to May 2009. Over the year real average weekly earnings increased 2.8 percent. A 0.3 percent decrease in average weekly hours and a 0.1 increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers were partially offset by a 0.1 percent increase in average hourly earnings. – Courtesy of Bureau of Labor Statistics
