Highway Trust Fund Again Teeters on Insolvency

A key U.S. senator says the Highway Trust Fund has found itself facing a new shortfall of $7 to 10 billion, requiring another fix. This will likely delay construction projects.

The estimate comes as a House committee readies a new surface transportation authorization bill to replace SAFETEA-LU, pegged at about $450 billion.
