The Dawes Arboretum Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will host the 2012 American Public Garden Association annual conference from June 19th to June 22nd. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in full and half-day tours and workshops, as well as a keynote address by Brian Unger, host of the History Channel’s How the States Got Their Shapes.

The conference will examine the demands and opportunities gardens are facing today, creating a place to pause and reflect on the identity of the public garden, make both difficult and radical choices and choose a proper path that leads to a truer, more focused mission. A choice of seven paths will be offered for attendees to choose from, including leadership, horticulture, education, marketing, conservation, development and community cultivation (new this year).
