CTASLA conducts the Connecticut Design Awards each year to recognize excellence in landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication, and research. To be eligible, an applicant must be a licensed landscape architect in the state of Connecticut, and the entrant or project location must be based in Connecticut.
“These award-winning projects showcase the various ways that landscape architects enhance the built environment and contribute to the cultural resources of our communities,” said Jeff Olszewski, president of CTASLA and a landscape architect at Fuss & O’Neill, Inc. in Trumbull.
Winners of the 2011 Connecticut Design Awards competition include:
Landscape Architectural Design - Corporate/Institutional: Fuss & O'Neill, Inc., Excellence Award for Memorial at Hartford Distributors Inc. LASN recently published an article on this project, http://www.landscapeonline.com/research/article/15643; Wesley Stout Assoc., Honor Award for Project Castlerock/Royal Bank of Scotland; S/L/A/M Collaborative, Merit Award for Emory University, School of Medicine; Stantec, Merit Award for Macombs Dam Park at the Former Yankee Stadium Site.
Landscape Architectural Design - Municipal/Public Spaces: Milone & MacBroom, Inc., Merit Award for Reconstruction of Rockwell Park.
Landscape Architectural Design – Residential: Spaulding Landscape Architects, Honor Award for 1/8th Acre Oasis.
The jury for this year’s competition was comprised of members of the Wisconsin Chapter of ASLA.
