Water Use Fine




The city of San Diego, California has fined its first resident for failing to meet the city's mandatory water conservation rules. Landscapers in Southern California should watch water use.

A homeowner was fined $100 earlier this month for neglecting to fix a leaking pipe under his house.

The city has received over 6,000 complaints about water waste since the mandatory conservation rules took effect in June of 2009.

The city of San Diego's website offers tools and tips to help conserve water and avoid fines and file complaints for water waste.
