Ecological Landscape Alliance to Host Conference

Speakers at the Ecological Plant Conference will share their expertise on plant selection, pruning techniques, long-term plant care, and growing and maintaining healthy, dynamic plant communities.

The Ecological Landscape Alliance (ELA) will hold its third annual Ecological Plant Conference on December 7, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, N.Y. The event will feature presentations from five "plant masters" who will discuss the importance of plant communities in landscapes as well as the cultivation, propagation, behavior and ecological function of specific plant species that are local to the northeastern United States.

According to ELA's website, the conference presents "an opportunity for professional gardeners, horticulturalists, landscape architects and [landscape] designers to explore the cultivation of the plants professionals in the Northeast work with every day." Continuing Education Units have been granted for this program by APLD, ISA, LA CES, NOFA AOLCP and NYSNLA.

Tickets for ELA members are $119, and nonmembers can purchase tickets for $139. Morning coffee options and lunch are included with registration.
