The Western Nursery and Landscape Association will host young professionals from throughout the Midwest at the 2018 Western in Kansas City, Missouri, Jan. 17 to 19.

Young professionals 35 years-old and under will have networking opportunities, including a new Micro Mentoring Lunch. The lunch will connect them with industry leaders to build their network, discuss career opportunities and the future of horticulture.

Ten industry leaders are volunteering to mentor and will attend the lunch. Tables will be assigned, with each mentor meeting with two professionals. Tickets are limited to 20 and cost $20 each.

The Western will emphasize Plants With a Purpose, to showcase benefits plants offer. It will also feature a design workshop with horticulturalist and author Rick Darke, roundtable discussions and educational sessions.
