Breaking: Trump Withdraws U.S. from Paris Climate Accord
Accord Aims to Cut Carbon Emissions

On Thursday, June 1, President Trump announced that he is pulling the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord, fulfilling one of his campaign promises.

According to Trump, the Paris accord punishes the United States, kills jobs, and places a burden on taxpayers. The U.S. now joins Syria and Nicaragua - neither of whom signed the agreement - as the only countries in the world who do not support the agreement.

Supporters of the Paris deal argue that the accord is critical to combat climate change. The U.S. is the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases behind China, according to Reuters, and had pledged to reduce emissions by 26 to 28 percent by 2025.

Despite the nation's withdrawal, many cities, states and companies have promised to honor the accord.

We are reaching out to green industry leaders and experts and will update as more information comes in.
