The Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA) Training and Education Fund announced in December of 2016 that it has partnered with the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA), an internationally recognized leader in the field of rainwater harvesting.
The two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), establishing a partnership that will build on the strengths of both organizations and unite them in their efforts to reduce the impact of improper stormwater management. This collaboration aims to provide viable, long-term solutions to freshwater shortages in the United States and Canada.
For decades, LIUNA Training has stood as the leader in trade training and education, including an unparalleled ANSI accredited instructor certification program. These strengths match ARCSA's industry-leading standards in the creation and implementation of professionally crafted rainwater catchment systems.
John J. LeConche, LIUNA Training's Executive Director, hailed the MOU as a landmark agreement that will benefit communities everywhere as the need to supply freshwater locally and globally continues to grow.
"By joining forces with a highly respected and successful organization like ARCSA, we will be able to train a knowledgeable, professional workforce in an industry that continues to take on added importance with each passing year," LeConche said.
The partnership between LIUNA Training and ARCSA brings together industry, labor and employers in an international training consortium.
