Landscape Professionals Mix it up For a Good Cause
The Potting Shed by Carlisle Hosts CLASS Fund Holiday Event
On Thursday December 8, the Potting Shed by Carlisle in Orange, Calif., partnered with Old Town Fiberglass to support the California Landscape Architectural Student Scholarship Fund. CLASS Fund was founded in 1980 by a group of Southern California landscape architects who believed it was their obligation to give back to the profession.
For over 35 years, CLASS Fund has brought together industry professionals with the purpose of advancing the landscape industry through individual student scholarships. CLASS Fund encourages involvement from the principals of green industry firms to reach its goals and objectives through networking, socializing and interaction.
Holding true to its vision, CLASS Fund welcomed landscape architects, contractors, suppliers and other green industry professionals to a converted Ford dealership for a holiday celebration and fundraiser filled with refreshments, live music and social networking aimed at raising funds for the educational advancement of the landscape industry.
"This group here tonight is the right mix of people you would need if you wanted to get something done in the landscape industry," said Michael Facon, Ewing Irrgation.
The Potting Shed is the brainchild of Jack Carlisle, horticulturalist and designer. His retail establishment attracts people of all ages with an eye for landscape design and outdoor d?cor. Carlisle is very active giving back to the community by serving on advisory boards and supporting organizations like CLASS Fund. The Potting Shed will celebrate its third year of supplying unique and vintage pieces to the public in January of 2017.
