Irrigation Foundation Announces Excellence in Education Award Winner
Ronald E. Sneed, PhD, PE, CAIS, CIC, CID, CLIA

The Irrigation Foundation, the charitable arm of the Irrigation Association, has honored Ronald E. Sneed, professor emeritus at North Carolina State University, with the 2016 Excellence in Education Award.


The Irrigation Foundation Excellence in Education Award recognizes a current or retired teacher of irrigation, water management, and/or water conservation at a two- or four-year institution. The educator helps supply the irrigation industry with professionals who provide efficient irrigation solutions.

Ronald E. Sneed, PhD, PE, CAIS, CIC, CID, CLIA, will be recognized as the 2016 recipient at the 2016 Irrigation Show and Education Conference, Dec. 5-9 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Sneed is professor emeritus at North Carolina State University, where he was involved in the department of biological and agricultural engineering for 32 of his 56 years there. He received the Irrigation Association Man of the Year Award in 1981, and spent over 20 years on the initial IA Certification Board. He helped start the North Carolina Irrigation Society, and what is now the Carolinas Irrigation Association.

Nominations for the Irrigation Foundation awards are made by industry peers are reviewed by the IA Awards and Honors Committee as well as the full Board of Directors. For more information, visit irrigationfoundation.org.
