September 2016 Ground Gains
Mergers, Acquisitions, Expansions

The Center of Excellence is the name that Isuzu Commercial Truck of America gave to its new facility located in northeast Pennsylvania. The complex in Jenkins Township/Pittston puts three support functions for dealerships and customers in the area under one roof. It is comprised of a 100,000-square-foot parts distribution center stocking $8 million worth of parts, and a 30,000-square-foot facility that will house a training center and a technical assistance operation. There are already plans to open a second facility like this in the U.S.

In a move to further improve the technology services it offers its customers, John Deere is partnering with the construction management solution provider HCSS. This will allow JDLink machine data to be integrated into the software company's tool suite, which includes GPS tracking, so customers can monitor, in one application, all equipment information such as location, meter readings, fault codes, hours of use and fuel consumption.

Walker Manufacturing expanded its European presence recently by welcoming two new dealerships there. After having no representation in Hungary for several years, Horoszcoop Kft. located in Vecses will now provide that, and the Italian market will be served by Sidan SRL from Brescia.

Serving numerous counties in Iowa and South Dakota, New Tec Inc. will now carry Takeuchi compact track loaders, skid steer loaders, wheel loaders and crawler excavators. The equipment dealer is headquartered in Hull, Iowa, and has additional locations in Storm Lake, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

As seen in LC/DBM magazine, September 2016.
