The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) has named Sharan Wilson the association's new executive director for region one (North America, South America, and Europe). Wilson succeeds Russ Adsit, FASLA, who led IECA from Nov. 2007 to June 2015.

After an extensive search, the IECA Board of Directors has chosen Sharan Wilson to lead the organization. Wilson has more than 20 years of senior level leadership experience in the telecommunications industry, followed by nearly 10 years as an executive director in the nonprofit sector. Her undergraduate degree is in advertising/public relations and her Masters is in organizational development from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

"I'm honored to have been chosen as the new executive director of IECA Region One," said Wilson. "I am coming on board at a great time, and am looking forward to all the opportunities," she added.

"She is a results-focused professional with an extensive experience leading high-performance teams, while effectively managing operating budgets and profits and losses," said Brock Peters, IECA president.

Wilson is prepared to implement IECA's newly adopted five-year strategic plan.

Wilson will be formally introduced at IECA's "Environmental Connection 2016" conference in San Antonio, February 16-19.
