PGMS Lining up School of Grounds
Management for GIE+EXPO

Registration Now Open

PGMS, an organization for grounds professionals, will once again be offering a School of Grounds Management at GIE+EXPO, including education programs and a pre-conference field trip.

Grounds professionals looking for a diverse line-up of educational topics in one location should make sure they are in Louisville Oct. 21-24 for the Professional Grounds Management Society's (PGMS) 2015 School of Grounds Management & GIE+EXPO. This year's event offers education programs, a pre-conference field trip, live concerts, networking and more.

PGMS will kick off this four-day event on Wednesday, Oct. 21 with a pre-conference field trip to the Kentucky Governor's Mansion, the Capitol Building in Frankfort, and Bortherum Historical Estate. The tour will be followed by a welcome reception where professionals will meet, mingle and exchange ideas.

Thirteen education programs will be offered during the GIE+EXPO Thursday and Friday at the Kentucky Exposition Center. PGMS courses will be focused on the latest techniques and practices with topics such as "Managing Your Water Needs in a Sustainable Landscape," "Adding Value to Exterior Spaces with Lighting Controls," "Customizing your Snow Management Plan," and "Equipping and Operating an Equipment Maintenance Shop Effectively," among others.

Back by popular demand, PGMS will host a Speaker Breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 24. From 7:30 - 8:30 a.m., attendees will learn about "Utilizing Social Media as a Tool for your Business," and from 8:45 - 9:45 a.m., Nicholas Payne, Ph.D., from the Kentucky Chiropractic Association, will present "Maximizing Production by Minimizing Injuries."

Grounds professionals interested in taking the first steps to earn a certificate in the School of Grounds Management (SGM) may earn Continuing Education Units at the School of Grounds Management. Strategically integrated into the schedule of events offered at the GIE+EXPO, the PGMS School focuses on four core competencies of grounds management. Those who complete the entire program are awarded an SGM certificate by PGMS. For more information on the SGM certificate program, visit http://pgms.org/certifications/school-of-grounds-management.
