Jeremy Thorne Receives Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
NALP, the voice of 100,000 landscape and lawn care industry professionals, has awarded Jeremy Thorne the inaugural Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The National Association of Landscape Professionals announced Jeremy Thorne as the recipient of the inaugural Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, designed to recognize an entrepreneur age 30 or under who has demonstrated spirit and initiative, and serves as an example to students pursuing a landscape industry career.
Thorne graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2013 with two degrees in Landscape/Horticulture Technology. Before college, he owned and operated a lawn care company, and worked as an operations manager and a landscape installation foreman for two different landscape companies.
Thorne is a certified pesticide applicator and has been a volunteer with and active member of NALP since 2011. He has served as a Green Industry Conference Student Ambassador and volunteered with the National Collegiate Landscape Competition and Renewal & Remembrance.
In the spring of 2015, he will open ThorneCare Landscape Solutions, LLC, which will focus on landscape enhancements.
"With all of my experience in landscaping and infrastructure, a college degree and work ethic, I feel there is no better time than now to continue my dream of owning and operating a successful landscape company," Thorne said.
Nominations for the 2016 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award will be accepted beginning in May. For more information on this award and other National Association of Landscape Professionals awards, visit www.landscapeprofessionals.org.
