PGMS Announces Newest Certified Grounds Managers

PGMS, an organization for grounds professionals, has announced the two newest Certified Grounds Managers.

The Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS) has announced its 158th Certified Grounds Manager (CGM) to be Brad Barbee, grounds manager for Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Ga. PGMS has also announced Michael Gildea, garden and grounds manager at the Chevy Chase Club in Chevy Chase, Md. as its 159th CGM.

On completing the CGM program, Barbee said "Acknowledgment throughout the industry and with my working peers, as a CGM, will not only add another feather in my cap but also provide proof that I hold myself to the standards of the program."

Gildea noted, "Going through the process for attaining the CGM helped me in many ways. It gave me the opportunity to review our departmental procedures and to refine them."

Congratulations to both professionals!
