The California Landscape Contractors Association - Orange County Chapter held their annual holiday party last Friday, December 5 at Il Fornaio restaurant in Irvine, Calif. The event celebrated the chapter's accomplishments for the year and also welcomed the incoming board members.

Current chapter president, Paul Hansen, was pleased to welcome Chuck Carr, the association's state president, who traveled from Northern Los Angeles and Sandra Giarde, executive director, who traveled from Sacramento. In total, the event had approximately 40 attendees who enjoyed dinner, discussion and the celebration of a donation to the local Orange County Habitat for Humanity.

The $1,500 donation was raised during the OC CLCA annual golf tournament. This is the first time in the last 10 years that the Orange County CLCA has made an outside donation, a sign that the green industry has begun to heal from the downturn of the economy. Brad Morton, a board member of Habit for Humanity was in attendance to receive the donation and spoke highly of the new partnership with OC CLCA.

Other OC CLCA board members in attendance of the event included Steve Beckstrom, treasurer; Bronwyn Miller, editor; Amy Conrad, public relations director; and Dave Horton, incoming chapter president.
