Stan Gardner ED Zuckerman Art Campbell Gorge P. Brandt JR. Randy Graff o The Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) announced the elected officers (one-year term) and board members (three-year term) during their annual business meeting held during their show. Stan Gardner, owner of Gardner Turfgrass, Inc., Westminster, Colorado, was elected TPI President. Ed Zuckerman, President and CEO of Delta Bluegrass Company, Stockton, California, was elected TPI Vice President. Art Campbell, owner of Campbell Sod, Rossville, Kansas, was elected TPI Secretary-Treasurer. The TPI Board of Trustees includes: George P. Brandt Jr., owner and President of American Sod Corp., Palatine, Illinois; and Randy Graff, CEO and owner of Graff's Turf Farms, Inc., Ft. Morgan, Colorado. o Dewberry-Goodkind, a civil, structural and construction engineering/inspection firm, introduced their New York management team: Theodore St. Germain, P.E., Vice President and Manager of their New York operations, and Senior Associate and Assistant Branch Manager Keith Itzler, P.E. o The American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) approved the new officers for fiscal year 2002-03. They include: President Sonny Beck - president of Beck's Superior Hybrids, Atlanta, Indiana; First Vice President Donald Wertman - president of Seedway, Hall, New York; Second Vice President Paul Bennett - president of Sakata Seed America, Morgan Hill, California; Central Regional Vice President Dale Cochran - president of Illinois Foundation Seeds, Inc., Champaign, Illinois; Northwest Regional Vice President Steve Tubbs - president of Turf Merchants Inc., Tangent, Oregon; Southwest Regional Vice President Bud Hughes - president of Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Co., Memphis, Tennessee; and ASTA Representative to the Mexican Seed Trade Association Marc Cool - vice president, Marketing/Sales, Barenbrug USA, Tangent, Oregon. o Phil Helland of Landscape Garden Centers in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has been elected to the position of NLA Region IV Directorship. o Horton Lees Brogden has welcomed Brian J. Keefer to their Los Angeles staff. Keefer joins the company as a new designer and is Lighting Certified (LC). o The California Association of Nurserymen has announced the winners of several of their awards that are handed out at their annual meeting. Christopher Ono of Mitsuwa Nursery Inc. has been honored as the Young Nurseryman of the Year for 2002. Parry Hamada, past president of the Orange County chapter of the California Association of Nurserymen was named the 2002 recipient of the California Association of Nurserymen Elmer J. Merz Award. Richard A. Redak, Associate Professor of the Department of Entomology, University of California, Riverside is this year's recipient of the Research Award. Charles Huston Michael Cucchiara Brandon Meadows Dean Armstrong o Hunter Industries has announced several three new promotions and one new addition to the company. Charles Huston was named Executive Vice President of sales, where he will oversee all sales activities and customer training. Michael Cucchiara is the new Vice President of sales for the Americas and will direct sales staff and local market promotional efforts. Brandon Meadows was also appointed International Vice President of Sales. Furthermore, the company has welcomed Dean Armstrong to the company as the Sales Manager for eastern Canada. Armstrong will be based out of Guelph, Ontario. o Tim Johnson, founder and owner of Artistic Arborist, Inc. has been elected Chairman of the Board for the Naitonal Arborist Association o Mark Mullikin has been named Product Category Sales Manager for Irrigation Products by Horizon. Mullikan is responsible for the marketing strategy and sales execution of the irrigation products group, including central control at Horizon. o John Deere Landscape has made major staff appointments to their management team. Frank Bates was appointed as Senior Vice President, Operations. Jeff Lanahan will be the Senior Vice President, Supply Management and Information Technologies. Mark Nattinger was announced as Senior Vice President, Sales. Finally, Thomas Childers was named Marketing Director and will head up promotional activities for the company. o Glenmac, Inc., located in Jamestown, North Dakota, has announced the addition of Drew Schoonfield as a salesman to their staff. o Randy Butler has been promoted to Director of Distribution and Service for Tecumseh Products Company's Engine & Transmission Group. Butler is responsible for Tecumseh's worldwide aftermarket sales, distribution and service organization for both engines and transmissions. The company has also promoted Brian G. Fette to the newly created position of manager of strategic planning the company's Engine & Transmission Group. Previously Fette held two product manager positions. o PlayCore, Inc. has welcomed A. Joseph Neiner as its new Chief Financial Oficer. Neiner has relocated Chicago, Illinois to Chatanooga, Tennessee to be with the company. o Hydro-Scape Products has expanded its Lighting Division by appointing Art Arnold as the company's Regional Sales and Technical Support Speciatlist. He will be assisting contractors in the Inalnd Empire, Long Beach/Orange County, San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles/San Gabriel, Oxnard and Santa Barbara regions of California with lighting design and installation
