Telling Your Brand's Story with Social Media
by Robin Plaskoff Horton

We used to tell stories around the campfire, we now tell them around the virtual campfire. We tell stories for fun, for profit, for other reasons. And like all stories, the good ones get retold. So how do we choose among the many virtual campfires, or social media channels and audiences with which to engage? Whether it is a blog, a Facebook post, a Tweet, a Pinterest image, or an Instagram post, in order to tell a good story, we first need to ask these questions: 1) what do I want to achieve? 2) what is the story? 3) who will care and why?
In this workshop we will explore how to use social media and its influencers as marketing communication tools aligned with your brand's objectives. We will look at techniques for creating compelling social media content designed to develop meaningful engagement with your target audience: storytelling that will build community and ignite conversation around your brand to help you achieve your goals.
